Our new stores will feature the latest in Hollywood entertainment, including video game kiosks and digital download solutions. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come! Blockbuster's main competitors included Hollywood Video, which went bankrupt in September 2010. In November 2012, Cineplex Entertainment purchased the Blockbuster Canada brand from Dish Network for $67.5 million. In April 2013, Dish Network announced that it would sell its Blockbuster Canada division to Quebec-based Vidéotron for $8 million. On March 25, 2014, Vidéotron announced that it would shut down the Blockbuster Canada division on June 30, 2014. In April 2014, Dish Network sold its Blockbuster trademarks to a New York company known as Max Video Services, along with a Blockbuster Video in Bend, Oregon. In June 2015, Blockbuster commenced a "Going out of business" campaign closing stores and selling off remaining inventory. The remaining 60 franchise stores were bought by two rental companies, AGS Entertainment and Zone video .On July 2013, the original parent company of Movie Gallery & Blockbuster Video filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after seeing revenues drop from $6 billion to $1 billion over the past 15 years. The following year on April 2, 2014. The original parent company was renamed as RCII Holdings Corp by the U. S. Bankruptcy Court. On November 4, 2014, Dish Network announced it had acquired Blockbuster L.L.C. for an undisclosed amount after the company emerged from bankruptcy as a wholly owned subsidiary of Dish Network's holdings company, DISH Network Corporation.. In March 2016 Dish announced it would close all remaining locations and remove the Blockbuster brand entirely by early April 2016 as remaining stores were bought out by independent operators such as Fío Family Video and Cheddar's Entertainment. The last store to close was in Honolulu which closed on April 8th 2016https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458339/?ref_=nv_sr_1 http://www.metacritic. cfa1e77820
